Ford announces Power Packs for the 2015-17 Mustang GT models

Giving Mustang enthusiasts a lot more to get from their beloved cars, Ford has announced new Power Packs for the 2015-17 Mustang GT models.

Ford says that it is for the first time it is offering calibrations with various levels of hardware to give customers more options and price points. Ford is going to offer three Power Packs – Power Pack 1, Power Pack 2 and Power Pack 3 – to be available in August, September and October respectively.

All three power packs have these features in common – fits 2015-2017 Mustang GT; exclusive no-lift shift strategy and enhanced throttle response; exclusive Ford proprietary software and engineering; 50 state legal with CARB EO; available for both manual and automatic transmission; allows gear ratio changes up to 4.09:1; optimized performance shift schedule; and requirement of premium fuel – 91 octane or higher.

Further, customers who go for any of the Power Packs will also be provided a ProCal tool that they can install on their laptop. Using this tool they will be able to recalibrate the Mustang’s throttle response on both manual and automatic transmission variants, with the manual models getting no-lift shifting as a new feature.

Going into the details of each of the packs, the Power Pack 1 has been priced at $539 and it includes high flow K&N air filter; provide increase of 13 hp and 16 lbs/ft peak gains over stock; and 40lbs/ft gain at 1500rpm. The next – Power Pack 2 – will set you back by $949 and it includes GT350 cold air intake with 87mm throttle body and exclusive intake adapter; 21 hp and 24 lbs/ft peak gains over stock; 40 lbs/ft gain at 1,500 rpm; and industry exclusive open air filter with CARB EO.

The next level is the Power Pack 3 that costs a steep $2,395. However, the price tag is justified for it will equip your Mustang with GT350 cold air intake with 87mm throttle body and GT350 intake manifold M-9424-M52. Further your car will also be blessed with industry’s only 50-state legal calibration with performance intake manifold.
